Job summary

Schuff Steel Co. is seeking a Field Engineer to support project management and administration of activities per Schuff’s procedures and contract docs.

You will schedule meetings, take minutes, manage field coordination, track schedules, and oversee field quality management to ensure on-time, compliant project execution. You will collaborate with Construction and Project Managers, review submittals, manage weekly reports, and assist in purchasing, expediting, and document control across field

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• Experience reading and interpreting shop/design drawings and blueprints.
• Strong project coordination and communication skills in a field/production environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides support and co-leading with Construction and Project Managers for submittals, RFIs, and project controls documents.
• Reviews submittals and notifies the team of potential cost/schedule impacts.
• Develops understanding of contract documents (plans, specs, schedule).
• Collects data, assembles, and distributes weekly reports.
• Aids in purchasing, expediting, and receiving materials/equipment.
• Assists with bid package preparation and field coordination of subcontractors.
