Job summary

Schuff Steel is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead assigned projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time delivery within budget. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure scope and budget adherence, while directing cross-functional activities across departments.

The role emphasizes managing costs, coordinating with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors, and ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years related experience as a Project/Construction Manager in the structural steel industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Structural/Civil Engineering, or Business is highly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of fabrication and erection standards and procedures.
• General knowledge of AISC standards and AWS codes.
• Proven ability to read and interpret shop and design blueprint drawings.
• Proven ability to manage several large, commercial and industrial projects simultaneously.
• General knowledge of 3D modeling / Tekla system.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting stringent deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project proposals and scope plans to determine time frames, funding, procedures, staffing and resources.
• Ensures all contractual terms and obligations are maintained.
• Ensures projects meet cost requirements.
• Handles change orders and cost controls with management approval.
• Interfaces with departments and subcontractors to schedule work and materials.
• Meets with customers and vendors to resolve barriers and maximize production.
• Travels to job sites as needed; may include out-of-state travel.
• Prepares reports for management and tracks project timeliness.
• Coordinates with owner, architect, engineers and crews to verify drawings.
• Directs project teams to ensure quality and successful completion.
