Job summary

WSP is seeking a Building Special Inspector for our New York City office. You will perform concrete, steel and masonry inspections on projects, review plans, and generate accurate reports to ensure compliance with codes and project documents.

The role requires at least five years of inspection experience, a valid driver’s license, and certifications such as ACI or ICC Concrete Construction Special Inspector. Travel may be required to sites and you will collaborate with engineers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of post-education construction inspection experience.
• Valid state driver’s license and relevant inspector certifications.
• Strong knowledge of construction codes, specifications and safety requirements.
• Ability to document findings clearly and coordinate with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform concrete, steel and masonry inspections in buildings.
• Review structural plans and shop drawings and assist with issue resolution.
• Generate complete inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors and project managers on-site.
• Uphold safety policies and comply with client procedures.
