Job summary

SOCOTEC US in Campbell Hall, NY is seeking full-time Special Inspectors to perform testing and inspection of construction materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry and asphalt on projects ranging from roads and bridges to schools and government sites.

Observers ensure procedures and materials meet specifications; materials are tested; samples prepared; daily logs and reports maintained. The role offers competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector certification.
• Must hold ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector certification.
• Must hold ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector certification.
• Must hold ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Inspector certification.

Responsibilities

• Observes work in progress to ensure procedures and materials meet specifications.
• Performs standard testing on construction materials.
• Prepares samples of materials for laboratory testing.
• Examines workmanship of installations for conformity to specifications.
• Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities and completes reports daily.
• Prepares sketches of construction installations that correlate with testing and inspection sites

SOCOTEC-Campbell Hall, NY, a well-established New York-based construction materials testing and inspection firm with multiple offices across the Northeast, is seeking full-time Special Inspectors. SOCOTEC, has opportunities available for individuals to perform testing and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry and asphalt. Typical assignments include projects related to construction of roads, bridges, airports, tunnels, commercial and industrial buildings, schools, government and military sites, and material fabrication and production facilities.

Special Inspectors - RESPONSIBILITES

• Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications.

Additional Information

All positions may require lifting and/or physical activities, including lifting of up to 75 lbs., walking/working on uneven surfaces, and driving to and from job sites. The majority of our work is conducted outdoors, in all weather conditions. Work hours vary, but include day, night and weekend shifts.
