Job summary

Leidos in Pascagoula, MS is seeking a Field Engineer for the AEGIS Test Team to oversee on-site installation, testing and post-sail away support for the AN/SQQ-89A(V) Sonar Suite. You will coordinate with ship personnel, shipyard teams and ATT to ensure readiness of USW systems.

Responsibilities include installation oversight, system testing, troubleshooting, and daily/weekly reporting, with a focus on interoperability, safety and documentation in a manufacturing/shipboard environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience or Master’s with <2 years in a technical field.
  • Ability to operate standard electronic test equipment and work in a shipyard environment.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and US citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Installation Oversight: review drawings and assist government reps during installation.
  • System Testing & Verification: coordinate testing and SIV activities per procedures.
  • Troubleshooting & Corrective Actions: fault isolation and remediation of issues.
  • Reporting & Documentation: provide daily/weekly activity updates and audits.
  • Customer & Team Coordination: act as on-site rep interfacing with ship staff.
