Job summary

Blattner Energy is seeking a Summer 2027 Intern in Avon, Minnesota. This paid internship supports daily production and safety data collection, with exposure to field activities and collaboration with engineers, subcontractors, and owners.

Candidates pursuing construction management or engineering degrees, able to relocate for 12 weeks, with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, will gain hands-on experience while developing professional relationships.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a two-year or four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or related degree.
  • Able to relocate to the construction project site assigned for duration of internship (12 weeks).
  • Have access to reliable transportation.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable MVR.
  • Comfortable with exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and a trailer office environment.
  • Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Outlook, Visio).
  • Skill in accounting (math and record-keeping).
  • Be independently motivated and have supervisory skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Support the collection of daily production and safety data.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers.
  • Assist with project equipment management and inventory.
  • Attend weekly meetings with engineers, subcontractors, and owner representatives.
  • Engage in field activities to gain experience with craft positions.
  • Assist in preparing agendas for daily and monthly meetings (Plan of the Day, Monthly Managers Meetings).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, landowners, and team members to enhance the company’s position.
