Job summary

Blattner Energy is offering a Summer 2027 Internship at our Avon, Minnesota site. You will assist site supervision to identify and remedy unsafe conditions and conduct field audits, crew visits, and subcontractor visits to ensure safe work practices.

The 12-week program requires pursuing a four-year degree in occupational safety/health or related field, with relocation to the project site. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Ability to relocate to the construction project site for 12-week duration.
  • Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and collaborate with site supervisory personnel to identify and remedy unsafe working conditions.
  • Spend approximately 65% of work time in the field conducting audits, crew visits, and subcontractor visits.
  • Assist in accident investigations and accompany safety/inspections tours as required.
  • Support the site safety program including training, orientations, JHAs, and daily observations.
  • Participate in safety trainings such as OSHA 10/OSHA 30.

Note: This position is part of Blattner's Summer 2027 Internship Program.A DAY IN THE LIFEAssists and collaborates with site supervisory personnel to identify and remedy unsafe working conditions, immediately, if necessary, in establishing an injury free work site.Approximately 65% of work time should be spent in the field conducting audits, crew visits, subcontractor visits, etc. to ensure safe work practices.Assists in the investigation of all accidents and near misses with the trade superintendents and required foremen and crew; accompany all safety, health, and insurance inspectors on walk through tours; and ensure all documentation is completed according to corporate and outside safety processes and procedures.Ensures and assists the site team with executing the site safety program, which includes training and orientations, JHA’s, and Daily Field observations throughout the project site.Participates in Blattner Energy safety related training programs to include OSHA 10 and OSHA 30-hour trainings.WHAT YOU’LL NEEDCurrently pursuing a four-year degree in occupational safety/ health or related degree.Able to relocate to the construction project site assigned for duration of the internship (12 weeks).Have access to reliable transportation.Possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).Comfortable with exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and a trailer office environment.WHAT WILL SET YOU APARTEffective communication skills (oral, written, presentation).Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Outlook, Visio).Be independently motivated and have supervisory skills.Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.Ability to recognize imminent danger and act accordingly.WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOUPaid InternshipMentorshipLodging/housing reimbursementOvertime eligibleHiring bonusDrive time and mileage reimbursementDevelop professional connectionsEmployee/ Family focused cultureWork/ Life balancePay Range: $22.00- $24.00 per hour based on experienceWHO ARE WE?Blattner Energy is a leading renewable energy contractor and service provider with utility scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the United States.
