Job summary

Kiewit is seeking interns for the Power Market, offering hands‑on learning across construction management, estimating, scheduling, and field operations. This internship develops practical skills in a fast‑paced, safety‑conscious environment with opportunities to travel.

You will read drawings, perform takeoffs, assist with cost estimates, and participate in pre‑bid investigations, gaining exposure to EPC and bid‑build projects nationwide.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or related degree
• Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship to begin or continue employment
• Broad knowledge reading project drawings and cost control concepts
• Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with SureTrak, Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log or Primavera P6 is a plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team
• Willingness to relocate as required and travel as needed
• Reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Work with a vibrant and diverse team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical and heavy industrial systems.
• Support administrative and construction activities: review proposals, takeoffs, prepare cost estimates, attend pre-bid meetings.
• Learn to supervise subcontractors and communicate with vendors.
• Prepare work plans, assure quality control, monitor costs and materials, schedule equipment, and maintain owner relations.
• Demonstrate drive and leadership in a fast-paced heavy construction environment.
• This job requires relocation.
