Job summary

Kiewit is offering an internship in the Water Facilities South district, focused on hands-on construction management experience. This full‑time temporary program provides exposure to field engineering, planning, cost control, and project coordination across water treatment facilities and related infrastructure.

You will learn by doing, with opportunities for travel and relocation as projects require, while developing core skills in safety, teamwork, and problem solving during the summer

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering or construction management.
• Willingness to travel or relocate as needed.
• Available to work full‑time during the summer (May–August).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self‑motivated with a safety mindset and integrity.
• Able to access construction sites in varied environments.
• Detail‑oriented with good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering and planning for construction activities.
• Cost control, scheduling, and material tracking.
• Contract administration and supplier coordination.
• Review plans to determine material requirements and pricing.
• Assist with procurement and expediting delivery of materials.
• Maintain progress and cost records of the project.
• Support safety programs and conduct site inspections.
