Job summary

MasTec's Clean Energy & Infrastructure segment is seeking Construction Field Engineer Interns for Summer 2026 to support our Rockford, IL office/project. The intern will assist the Project Manager and Construction Manager with project support and estimating, and will help implement project quality plans, site plans, and material receiving.

Qualifications include an undergraduate Civil/Construction Engineering or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and at least 24 college credits completed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related safety/OSH fields.
• Other applicable degrees include Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 and 24 college credits completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager and Construction Manager with project support and coordination.
• Support site quality plans, audits, and inspections documentation.
• Track material inventory and receive paperwork, and help with RFIs.
• Assist with final closeout, as-builts, and job binder creation.
• Coordinate subcontractor scheduling and management as needed.
