Job summary

FlatironDragados in Arizona invites a Field Engineer Intern to work alongside seasoned professionals this Summer 2027. You will apply your engineering training on a real project, interpret plans, support QA/QC, and help maintain the construction schedule.

You must be enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management program. The program offers hands-on field experience, document control support, and exposure to subcontractor coordination and design clarifications on live-site work.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management program.
• Experience with field Testing/QA is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and assist on-site teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluation of field conditions and acceptance testing
• Support quality assurance and quality control engineering materials testing
• Apply survey knowledge to assist with project layout and checking of work to confirm conformance with plans and specifications
• Review project drawings and coordinate design changes
• Provide document control assistance for correspondence, submittals, design releases etc.
• Initiate engineering design clarifications
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis for operation efficiency
• Assist with preparing and updating project schedule and interact with scheduling decisions
• Respond to field for design clarification, and manage subcontractors field operations and verify contract payments
• Provide design assistance to the project engineer for the design of temporary structures using computer aided design tools
