Job summary

SPC Construction is offering an internship for field/engineering interns to apply academic training on active projects. You will assist the project manager and field staff, participate in plan interpretation, scheduling, and coordination, and gain hands-on experience across engineering and construction activities.

You will work with on-site teams, learn corporate policies, and receive mentorship while contributing to safe, efficient project execution and documentation control.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related program at an accredited technical college or university.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and follow corporate policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluation of field conditions and acceptance testing.
• Support quality assurance and quality control engineering materials testing.
• Apply survey knowledge to assist with project layout and checking of work to confirm conformance with plans and specs.
• Review project drawings and coordinate design changes.
• Provide document control assistance for correspondence, submittals, design releases, etc.
• Initiate engineering design clarifications.
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis for operation efficiency.
• Assist with updating project schedule and coordinating with scheduling decisions.
• Respond to field for design clarification and manage subcontractor field operations.
• Provide design assistance for temporary structures using CAD tools.
