Job summary

PCL Construction, Civil West in Colorado, invites applications for a Field Engineer Intern role during the summer. You will support field engineers, project managers, and superintendents while contributing to safety, quality, and project documentation.

As a current full-time student in a construction-related program, you’ll gain hands-on experience on complex infrastructure projects, with opportunities for training at PCL’s College of Construction and mentorship across teams.

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time student pursuing a construction-related degree (e.g., construction management/engineering/technology).
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license.
• Available to work full-time May–August.
• Employment contingent on passing a substance abuse test.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field/Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
• Conduct safety and quality audits.
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Log submittals, process RFIs, and prepare reports.
• Assist with surveying and project layout.
• Maintain field drawings and records.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors and field staff.
• Attend project meetings and prepare memos and contracts.
• Assist with estimating and soliciting information from subs and suppliers.
