Job summary

Spence Brothers invites a Construction Intern to gain hands-on experience across construction and engineering disciplines in Michigan. You will support project managers, engineers, superintendents and estimators while exposure to management, inspection, and field practices is gained.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and practical skills in project coordination, drawings interpretation, and on-site activities during a 12+ week summer internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with construction practices and project management concepts.
• Strong academic record with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong interest in construction, engineering, and infrastructure projects.
• Conscientious self-starter with organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents and Estimators to ensure construction activities are completed efficiently.
• Support subcontractor and supplier planning/administration and work assignments.
• Coordinate on-site construction and engineering activities for projects.
• Interpret design drawings, specifications, submittals and other documents.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and support project schedule.
