Bechtel's U.S. Summer Internship Program offers a 10-week, structured experience where students work alongside industry professionals on projects with global impact.

Interns are integrated into real field work at construction sites, project offices, or corporate settings. As a Construction Field Engineer Intern, you will guide superintendents and craft professionals to meet safety, quality, and cost goals while gaining exposure across civil, electrical, mechanical, piping, and welding

Qualifications

• Completed coursework related to construction management or engineering.
• Prior co-op or internship experience in construction.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Practical work experience in a construction environment.
• Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration.
• Fluency in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, or French) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to superintendents and craft professionals.
• Support design interfaces with engineering and procurement.
• Conduct constructability reviews and plan work packages.
• Verify quantities and monitor material usage.
• Resolve technical issues with designers of record.
• Interface with subcontractors and ensure safety standards.
• Assist in inspections and quality documentation.
• Contribute to standard work processes and project controls.
