Job summary

FlatironDragados in Austin, TX is seeking a Field Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to apply academic training on real projects. You will support project staff, interpret plans, and assist with scheduling, cost codes, and field testing at various project locations.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited engineering or construction management program.
• Strong willingness to learn and support field staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluation of field conditions and acceptance testing.
• Support quality assurance and quality control engineering materials testing.
• Apply survey knowledge to assist project layout and checking of work.
• Review project drawings and coordinate design changes.
• Provide document control assistance for correspondence and submittals.
• Initiate engineering design clarifications.
• Track quantities and analyze productivity.
• Assist with updating project schedules and coordinating scheduling decisions.
• Support field for design clarification and manage subcontractors' field operations.
• Provide design assistance to the project engineer for temporary structures.

Education

Currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering/Construction Management program
