Job summary

Wyatt Field Service Company is seeking a Field Engineer to support heavy industrial construction and power generation projects on active sites. You will coordinate field activities, monitor performance, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Collaboration with superintendents, craft professionals, and subcontractors is essential for successful delivery. You will review drawings and specifications, document progress, manage RFIs, and contribute to planning, startup, and commissioning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field and field experience acceptable
• At least 3 years of heavy industrial, energy, utility, power generation, or similar environments
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and procedures
• Proficiency with MS Office and construction reporting tools
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, and safety leadership skills

This role plays a critical part in construction planning, quality control, project documentation, subcontractor coordination, and project controls, helping project teams deliver complex energy, utility, and industrial construction projects on schedule and within budget.

DAY IN THE LIFE

A typical day begins on an active industrial construction site where you work closely with superintendents, craft professionals, subcontractors, and project leadership to support safe and productive project execution. You monitor construction progress, verify quality standards, review drawings and specifications, and help resolve field issues that may affect schedule, productivity, or costs. Throughout the day, you coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, and subcontractor activities while maintaining accurate project documentation, including RFIs, field reports, progress tracking, and change management records. You also participate in planning meetings, constructability reviews, inspections, startup and commissioning activities, and short-term scheduling efforts. Your ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, clients, inspectors, and project teams helps keep work aligned with project objectives while supporting operational excellence, safety performance, and successful project delivery across power generation, utility, and heavy industrial construction environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant field experience.
• Minimum three (3) years of construction experience in heavy industrial, energy, utility, power generation, or similar industrial environments.
• Experience supporting field execution activities on industrial construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and technical procedures.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods and industrial jobsite operations.
• Knowledge of quality control processes, construction documentation, and project reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and construction reporting tools.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, accountability, and safety leadership skills.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
