Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a motivated Field Engineer to support field and office operations across Southern California. The role involves interpreting drawings, assisting in surveying, and coordinating daily field activities.

The position offers substantial travel opportunities and exposure to diverse infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has a construction-related bachelor’s degree, strong safety ethos, and proven teamwork skills, with flexibility to relocate as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to work in heavy civil construction.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.
• Ability to travel and relocate as business requires.
• Valid Driver’s License required and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and measurements for work completed.
• Assist in preparing work plans, packages, and daily reports.
• Support field surveying, elevations, control points, and as-built data.
• Assist in labor timekeeping, JHA preparation, and safety reviews.
• Coordinate material deliveries and plan on-site work groups.
• Supervise field operations and subcontractor activities.
