Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Field/Office Engineer to support field operations on major infrastructure projects. You will interpret drawings, assist with surveys, prepare work plans, and coordinate materials and labor data across field and office teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field of engineering (civil, mining, mechanical, geotechnical, CM)
• Previous construction or mining experience preferred
• Willingness to travel and relocate nationally
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong work ethic; able to work independently or in a team
• Proficiency with Excel and Word

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specs for field crews and supervision
• Perform quantity takeoffs by measurements and percentage completed
• Assist in preparation of work plans and work packages
• Assist in field surveying and layout support including elevation and control points
• Assist in compiling daily labor timesheets
• Assist in preparing Job Hazard Analyses (JHA)
• Provide solutions related to underground tunneling and construction operations
• Participate in jobsite safety reviews and toolbox talks
• Order and schedule material deliveries
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
• Supervise field operations
• Perform material takeoffs and basic engineering calculations in Office Engineering
• Support data gathering for submittals and customer communications
• Maintain project records and cost reports
