Job summary

HNTB in Nashville, TN seeks a Civil/Construction Inspector responsible for on-site inspection and documentation of contractor work, ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and regulations to protect client interests.

You will assist with design calculations, technical reports, and contract documents, read construction drawings, review daily site reports, and coordinate with the Resident Engineer to resolve issues and improve efficiency using field tools.

Qualifications

• Discrepancy between documents identified and addressed.
• Daily inspection reports written with accuracy and detail.
• Basic shop drawing review for conformance to plans/specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret contractor CPM schedule at a basic level.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction field tasks to ensure conformance with plans, specs and contract documents.
• Observe on-site material testing and coordinate testing/monitoring services; perform basic quantity calculations.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and identify discrepancies or conflicts.
• Review contractor daily reports, prepare progress reports and support project documentation.
