Job summary

Zachry Construction Corporation is hiring a Field Engineer in the United States for heavy civil projects. You will work with project engineers, superintendents, and foremen to manage field activities, ensure safety, and meet design specs from concept to completion.

The position offers growth into leadership roles, with responsibilities in cost reporting, QA/QC, and close-out documentation, while promoting a safety-first culture and teamwork across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (preferred).
• 1+ years of experience in heavy highway, road, or bridge construction.
• Experience with projects $10M+ preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, track, and execute field activities with superintendents and foremen.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, cost reporting, and materials tracking.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to keep schedules and budgets.
• Participate in work planning, project documentation, and progress meetings.
• Implement QA/QC processes to meet standards.
• Identify and resolve field challenges through teamwork and problem-solving.
• Support change orders, cost reporting, and close-out documentation.
• Promote Zachry's safety culture so everyone goes home safely.
