Zachry Engineering Corporation in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Field Civil Engineer to join our team on construction sites. You will perform layout and control, verify conformance with plans, and assist with placing structural elements, collaborating with crews in the field across the USA.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in civil engineering, 4+ years of site civil experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and is working toward a PE license, with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 4 years of Site Civil Engineering experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification and working towards Professional Engineer licensure.
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D proficiency.
• Experience with grading and Earthwork site design.
• Experience with stormwater drainage analysis utilizing SSA.
• Environmental Permitting knowledge (NPDES, wetlands, 404, Phase 1 ESA).
• Site layout experience (parking, access, roadways, ADA).
• Experience with Roadway / Paving design & specifications.
• Surveying knowledge (topographical, boundary, plats, coordinate systems).

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and manage permits for civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct site visits to ensure construction aligns with design specifications and blueprints.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.
• Establish and verify survey control, lay out secondary control points for building elements like columns and walls.
• Assess soil, terrain, hydrological data and their impact on planning and design from reports, maps and drawings.
• Recommend new approaches to improve efficiency and services performed.
• Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
