Job summary

Kiewit Foundations Co. is seeking an Entry-Level Field/Office Engineer to support both field and office tasks on deep foundations projects across North America.

You will work with civil and geotechnical teams, assist in estimating, planning, and field surveying, and help ensure safety and quality on site. The role offers hands-on experience, career growth opportunities, and exposure to major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related degree.
• 1–3 years of experience in Deep Foundations/Heavy Civil construction preferred.
• Interest in deep foundations work such as piling, ground improvement and earth retention.
• Committed to the construction industry as a hands-on construction career.
• OSHA certification preferred and safety-focused.
• Willingness to relocate throughout career.
• Ability to access all points of a construction site in varied environments.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail and work ethic.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpreting drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations from measurements and completed work.
• Assist in preparing work plans and work packages.
• Assist in field surveying and layout support including elevations and control points.
• Assist in compiling daily labor timesheets and JHA preparation.
• Participate in safety reviews, toolbox meetings, and training.
• Order and schedule material deliveries; plan and coordinate work groups.
• Supervise field operations and support cost reporting and change orders.
• Assist in material takeoffs and basic engineering calculations.
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.
• Assist in reviewing historical data for bids and preparing plan/spec reviews.
