Job summary

Amentum is seeking a motivated Electrical/Mechanical Integration Field Engineer to join our engineering team at China Lake, CA. This hands-on role blends electrical troubleshooting, mechanical installation support, field execution, wiring documentation, test support, and mentorship.

You will work from schematics and drawings to install, checkout, fault isolate, and update configurations on fielded hardware, collaborating with technicians and engineers while traveling to project sites in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline preferred, with emphasis in Electrical or Mechanical fields.
• 3-12 years of hands-on field engineering, electrical troubleshooting, or hardware integration.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required.
• Experience troubleshooting low‑voltage systems, wiring harnesses, sensors, and related field hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of low‑voltage systems and instrumentation.
• Support mechanical installation and integration of brackets, enclosures, mounts, and cable supports.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and installation drawings to support field activities.
• Conduct inspections to ensure conformance with design, safety, and field requirements.
• Document observations, discrepancies, actions, and test results for engineering updates.
• Mentor technicians and collaborate with engineers to improve field execution and documentation.
