Job summary

Amentum seeks a Senior Field Engineer – Electrical / Mechanical Integration in Houston, TX. The role blends hands-on electrical troubleshooting with mechanical installation support, field execution, and documentation.

You will work from schematics, harness drawings, and interface documents to support installation, fault isolation, and corrective actions. The position involves field work across Navy research and development facilities, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to wiring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline preferred, with emphasis in Electrical or Mechanical fields.
• Minimum 15 years of hands-on field engineering experience in electrical troubleshooting and hardware integration.
• Experience reading wiring diagrams, schematics, harness drawings, and installation drawings.
• Proficiency with electrical test & measurement equipment (multimeters, scopes, etc.).
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of low-voltage systems and instrumentation.
• Support mechanical installation and integration, including brackets, enclosures, mounts, and cable routing.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and installation drawings to support field installation, verification, and fault isolation.
• Document observations, discrepancies, corrective actions, and as-built conditions for engineering updates.
• Mentor technicians and coordinate with engineers and project teams.
