Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Moody, Alabama is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Combat Rescue Helicopter (CRH) Training Systems Program. You will perform hands-on maintenance and provide technical support for HH-60W training devices and simulators to keep equipment available for Air Force training requirements.

The candidate should have a 2-year degree, CompTIA Sec+, and 2+ years of related experience, with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

  • 2-year degree required and CompTIA Sec+ certification.
  • Experience in electronics, aviation maintenance, computer systems, simulators or related technical field (2+ years).
  • Ability to troubleshoot electromechanical and computer-based systems and read manuals/schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and unscheduled maintenance on CRH training devices and simulators.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, display, computer, and peripheral faults.
  • Document maintenance actions in accordance with program and Air Force requirements.
  • Coordinate with Level 3/4 Field Engineers, vendors and engineering personnel for complex issues.
  • Support scheduled training events and maintain device availability.

Standard Job Description

We are seeking a Field Engineer to support the Combat Rescue Helicopter (CRH) Training Systems Program. This position will provide hands‑on maintenance and technical support for HH-60W training devices and simulators, ensuring equipment remains operational and available to support Air Force training requirements.

Standard Duties
  • Perform preventive, corrective, and unscheduled maintenance on CRH training devices and simulator systems.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate hardware, software, networking, display, computer, and peripheral system faults.
  • Support simulator operations to maintain required device availability and training throughput.
  • Perform system startups, shutdowns, preflight inspections, and post-maintenance operational checks.
  • Use technical manuals, engineering documentation, schematics, and troubleshooting procedures to identify and correct faults.
  • Accurately document all maintenance actions in accordance with program and Air Force requirements.
  • Maintain AFTO forms, maintenance logs, and other required configuration and maintenance documentation.
  • Assist with software, firmware, database, and configuration updates as directed.
  • Coordinate with Level 3/4 Field Engineers, vendors, and engineering personnel on issues requiring additional technical support.
  • Support scheduled training events and respond to device failures in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance environment.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2-yr Degree.
  • CompTIA Sec+
  • 2+ years of experience in electronics, aviation maintenance, computer systems, simulators, training systems, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electromechanical and computer-based systems.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and peripheral devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and system documentation.
  • Ability to use standard electronic test equipment and hand tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to accurately document maintenance actions and technical findings.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a maintenance team.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills
  • Prior military, aviation, simulator, or training‑device maintenance experience.
  • Experience supporting flight or mission training systems.
  • Experience with Windows‑based computer systems and networked training devices.
  • Experience working with Air Force maintenance documentation and processes.
  • Familiarity with HH-60, rotary‑wing, or other aviation training systems.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $53900.00 - $100100.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
