Job summary

Austin Commercial is seeking a Field Engineer in Phoenix, AZ to assist the senior field engineer with field-engineering supervision across all project phases. Responsibilities include surveying, RFIs, and ensuring accurate dimensions and elevations.

You will coordinate with surveyors, authorities and the field team to support daily construction activities, monitor form alignment, and train junior staff. OSHA 30-Hour training is required within the first year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management/science, engineering, or related field, or 4 years of commercial construction field engineering experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required (may obtain within first year).
• High level of math proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents before the project begins and identify discrepancies; request clarification (RFI) as needed.
• Establish dimensional control lines and elevations using the owner-provided benchmark.
• Coordinate with the independent surveyor, authorities, and others to locate benchmarks and property lines.
• Maintain daily contact with field superintendents and organize field crews to support daily construction activities.
• Provide on-the-job training in basic field engineering for subordinates.
