Job summary

Christman Company is seeking a Field Engineer in Lansing, Michigan to support the Project Manager and Superintendent with on-site field management tasks. The role involves coordinating subcontractors, maintaining quality and safety programs, and generating daily reports.

The candidate will assist in RFI processing, document control, plan reviews, and ensure project documentation reflects approved changes while monitoring site conditions and progress.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum two years of applicable experience in the construction industry, or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with jobsite supervision under guidance of the Project Superintendent and coordinate daily activities with trade contractors.
• Develop and manage site-specific quality control plan and related tasks to ensure compliance.
• Develop and manage site-specific safety program with Project Superintendent and communicate safety concerns.
• Summarize discussions, questions, and decisions from project meetings.
• Assist with answering technical questions from trade contractors and document RFIs.
• Review work in progress for quantities, quality, and accuracy.
• Manage Project Needs Summary and coordinate deliveries.
• Review and understand construction plans, standards, and specs.
• Update contract documents with approved changes and provide updates to trades.
• Inspect construction for compliance with plans and specs.
• Review as-built drawings and ensure records are maintained by contractors.
• Observe and document field activity for conformance with requirements.
