Job summary

The Christman Company, a project leader in construction, is seeking a Project Engineer for the Central Michigan region. You will produce and organize project documents, help with close-out and archiving, and ensure all MSDS and QA records meet company standards.

You will summarize conversations from owner, architect, and subcontractor meetings, support subcontract close-out and punch-list activities, and assist on inspections and procurement information to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree and 1 year construction industry experience (internships count).
• Experience coordinating project documents and close-out procedures.
• Ability to summarize discussions and decisions from meetings.

Responsibilities

• Produce and organize project documents per Christman standards and risk management.
• Prepare close-out, turnover and archiving docs including MSDS and QA plans.
• Plan and process subcontract close-out documents as work ends.
• Summarize key discussions from meetings and distribute to team.
• Support punch-list creation with client and architect; expedite punch list within 30 days.
• Assist Project Manager with inspections, logs, and procurement information.

## Project EngineerApplylocations: Lansing, MItime type: Full timeposted on: Posted 2 Days Agojob requisition id: R-100500The Christman Company**Job Description:****Build More with Your Career at Christman**Are you interested in becoming an employee-owner with an industry leader that will **Build More** opportunities in your professional career? **The Christman Company** is looking for a Project Engineer in our Central Michigan region!**What You Will Do:***As Project Engineer**, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:** Produce and organize project and professional documents consistent with Christman standards and risk management standards for the document type to enable team members to readily access necessary documentation.* Proactively prepare project documents for close-out, turnover, and archiving to allow efficient final compilation and delivery on schedule, as well as secure all necessary contractually required documents, including safety programs, Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) documents for all required chemicals and materials used on the project, and quality control plans.* Plan, communicate, and process close-out documents of all subcontracts as work concludes.* Accurately summarize important discussions, questions, and decisions raised during regular project team meetings, owner meetings, and weekly subcontractor meetings.* Partner with client and architect to establish punch-list contents.* Utilize current technology to expedite the punch list process. The goal is to complete the punch list 30 days after substantial completion.* Assist the Project Manager with identifying necessary inspections and create project-specific inspection logs according to Christman standards.* Provides information on all procurement, material tracking, and inspections to the Project Superintendent.* Manage the RFI process and ensure that information is flowing timely to all parties.* Update contract drawings to reflect all approved changes and ensure trade contractor documents update.* Organize and prioritize submittal requirements specified in contract documents and review for completeness.* Supports Project Superintendent by monitoring quality of work and compliance with construction documents as assigned by the Project Superintendent.* Assist the Project Superintendent with daily reports and the management of all progress and quality photos.* Supports the logistics process for all safety initiatives listed in the site specific safety plan.**What You Will Bring to the Team:***Required Education and Experience:** Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related job field.* Minimum one (1) year of construction industry experience.
