Job summary

The Christman Company in Lansing, MI is seeking a Field Engineer to support project managers and site superintendents on active construction projects. You will assist with field management, subcontractor coordination, documentation, and safety compliance.

This role requires at least two years of construction experience, an associate degree in a related field, and solid familiarity with plans, specs, and drafting. Travel to local sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret plans, specs and maps.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with jobsite supervision under Project Superintendent guidance.
• Coordinate daily activities with trade contractors and prepare field reports.
• Support quality control planning and safety program development.
• Document meetings and decisions from project team and owner meetings.
• Address RFIs and provide timely responses to trades and vendors.
• Review plans, quantities, and progress against specifications and drawings.
• Maintain and transmit field data, daily reports, and punch lists.
