Job summary

Wells Concrete in Wells, MN is seeking an entry‑level Field Engineer to support the installation of precast concrete structures. You will work closely with field crews and foremen to coordinate daily operations, ensure proper sequencing and layout, and help keep projects on schedule.

This role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and hands‑on learning. You will read blueprints, assist with surveys, and communicate plans to crews while gaining practical construction experience on active projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification required (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
• Basic knowledge of construction practices and jobsite safety requirements.
• Familiarity with survey equipment is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Support foremen, laborers, and operators in daily project tasks.
• Coordinate load schedules, sequencing, and deliveries with dispatch.
• Assist with layout and ensure proper alignment using survey equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and communicate plans to the crew.
• Monitor project progress and help troubleshoot field issues.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, including tracking issues and resolutions.
• Assist with jobsite setup, including crane access, logistics, and initial coordination.
• Coordinate equipment, materials, and crew needs to maintain efficiency.
• Communicate with general contractors and other trades to align project activities.
• Support inspections (grout, welds) and ensure compliance with project requirements.
