Field Engineer Assistant – Construction Projects

Two years of college in engineering/construction and Associates Degree are preferred. Travel is involved; good communication and teamwork are essential for success in this salaried, non-exempt position.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education in Engineering, Construction, or related field.
• Associate degree preferred in Engineering/Construction.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.
• Communicate well both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient with computer applications (MS Office).
• Basic understanding of scheduling programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in obtaining and reviewing information for shop drawings, data, samples; communicate information across the project team.
• Assist in managing RFIs (Requests for Information) and responses.
• Assist in preparing estimates for changes in work, reviewing Change Order requests.
• Study drawings and specs to ensure proper coordination and installation.
• Maintain and update contract documents, electronic project logs, and OM manuals.
• Distribute construction information to appropriate parties.
• Support Engineering to ensure materials/equipment are released for fabrication on time.
• Prepare final project records and close-out documents.
• Other duties as assigned.
