Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Walnut Creek, CA is seeking an Entry-level Project Engineer to support engineering and administrative tasks for SPD and other divisions. Reports to a Project Engineer and assists with shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation while developing coordination and scheduling skills in a growing construction environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education from an accredited program in Engineering, Construction, or related field.
• Experience in building construction or engineering preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with computer applications and Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of scheduling programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing shop drawings, product data, samples, and communicate information across the project team.
• Assist in managing RFIs and change order communications.
• Assist in preparing estimates for changes in work and review subcontractor change orders.
• Study drawings and specifications to ensure proper coordination and installation.
• Maintain contract documents, electronic project logs, and distribution of information.
• Assist Engineering to ensure materials are released for fabrication on time.
• Help prepare final project close-out records and OM manuals.
• Other duties as assigned.
