Job description

FIELD ENGINEER III

Mission Department: Test Site D-4, Anclote Key, FL. Reporting to: Section Manager.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a work unit and participate in design, installation, operation, maintenance, and evaluation of complex instrumentation systems.
• Design and maintain systems including radar, telemetry, flight termination systems, communications equipment, and optical network infrastructure.
• Resolve maintenance and operational problems for complex systems, subsystems, and components involving equipment installation.
• Work with degreed engineers on lab or field tasks, prepare technical reports and correspondence, and provide guidance and supervision to technicians.
• Perform housekeeping duties and support other job‑related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Technical or service school graduate with completed college‑level courses.
• Five years of applicable experience in engineering practices, principles, and related sciences.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and perform major design modifications for field installations.

Other Requirements

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Adherence to company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security, Administrative policies, and support for Process Improvement.

Work Environment

Assignments include indoor and outdoor work under various environmental conditions with travel required between sites along the coastline.
