Job summary

Barnhill Contracting Company is seeking an organized project professional to support daily operations on multiple construction projects. You will assist the project team with technical coordination, documentation and schedule adherence, reporting to the project manager.

Ideal candidates have an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering, a valid NC driver’s license, and strong skills in plan reading, BIM coordination and Procore.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree preferred.
  • Valid NC driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge base for coordinating contractors or supervising trades.
  • Monitor performance, progress and productivity of trades.
  • Ensure installations meet submittals, shop drawings and schedule.
  • Competency in shop drawings, Submittals, RFIs, Change Orders, Procore and daily site documentation.
  • Participate in meetings and training to improve competencies and public speaking with Owners and Architects.

Job Description

Assist in the effective daily operation of a single project, or multiple projects, by providing technical and informational support to the project team. Take action as needed to ensure project goals, objectives and initiatives are met in alignment with the mission, vision and values of Barnhill Contracting Company.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Skills development and learning implementation and maintenance of safe working conditions, and to ensure personnel are working to their highest efficiency to exceed project requirements, quality control and productivity. Develop a knowledge base for the coordination of contractors or supervision of trades within a particular construction work (discipline) area. Observes and interfaces with contractors or trades to monitor work performance, progress and productivity of trades. Enhance understanding of contract requirements, contract documents, scopes of work and schedule adherence/updating. Develop a knowledge base by conducting frequent and regular site inspections to ensure installations meet, or exceed, approved submittals, shop drawings and quality of construction in support of overall project schedule. Competency development in shop drawings, Submittals, RFI’s, Change Orders, Procore and Daily site documentation. Participates in all meetings and training opportunities to increase competencies and develop exposure to public speaking with Owners and Architect’s.

Minimum Qualifications & Training

Associate's or Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of training and work experience preferred. NC Driver's License Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred, but not required.
