Job description

We are looking for a dedicated Field Engineer to join our growing team. This individual will play a critical role in executing engineering plans, coordinating with on-site teams, and ensuring project success through hands-on involvement at project sites.

Position Summary

TheField Engineer will oversee on-site technical activities to ensure engineering designs are accurately implemented. This position requires strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and effective collaboration skills. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project milestones. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in dynamic, on-the-ground problem-solving and fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities

1. On-Site Project Management:

- Supervise construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.

- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints on-site.

- Ensure site operations align with safety regulations, engineering plans, and project schedules.

2. Technical Support & Problem-Solving:

- Provide on-the-spot technical support to resolve engineering challenges encountered on-site.

- Liaise with the design team to address discrepancies or necessary field modifications.

- Conduct site surveys, collect data, and validate measurements for ongoing design accuracy.

3. Coordination with Stakeholders:

- Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain smooth project execution.

- Act as a key point of contact between site activities and project managers.

- Communicate daily progress reports and escalate issues when needed.

4. Quality Control & Compliance:

- Monitor and inspect construction materials, workmanship, and equipment to ensure quality and compliance with engineering specifications.

- Conduct field tests and inspections to confirm design effectiveness and operational efficiency.

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and industry regulations throughout project execution.

5. Safety & Risk Management:

- Enforce safety protocols and conduct site safety audits to mitigate risks.

- Provide input into risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for on-site hazards.

6. Documentation & Reporting:

- Maintain accurate logs of field activities, inspections, and test results.

- Prepare site reports detailing daily activities, progress, issues, and resolutions.

- Ensure all documentation is submitted according to project timelines and client requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelors degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or related engineering fields.

- Experience:

- 3+ years of experience as a field engineer, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or related industries.

- Experience with project sites involving civil, structural, or environmental engineering is a plus.

- Technical Skills:

- Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS software, and project management tools.

- Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction techniques, and project documentation.

- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams.

- Soft Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in high-pressure environments.

- Certifications:

- OSHA or other safety certifications are highly desirable.

- Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure is a plus.

- Additional Requirements:

- Willingness to travel frequently to various project sites.

- Valid drivers license and the ability to work outdoors in challenging conditions.
