Job summary

Belcan is seeking an Energy Marshal to lead hazardous energy control on major field projects in the United States. You will coordinate energy isolation activities, enforce LOTO practices, verify zero-energy states, and maintain clear communications with engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of hazardous energy control principles and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices within mission-critical environments.
• Ability to interpret electrical one-lines, P&IDs, construction drawings, and system redundancies to safely execute energy isolations.
• Experience performing energy isolation activities on large-scale construction, commissioning, or critical infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of MEP systems and critical equipment (switchgear, UPS, generators, HVAC).
• Knowledge of hazardous energy sources beyond electrical systems (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, thermal, gravity).
• Familiarity with construction documentation, building management systems, and commissioning processes.
• Strong communication, leadership, and coordination skills across multiple project teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute and enforce the Hazardous Energy Control Program during field operations.
• Coordinate and verify energy isolation activities per Stored Energy Isolation Plans.
• Administer Lockout/Tagout activities and ensure proper permissions and verifications.
• Lead LOTO coordination across groups and ensure personnel understand responsibilities.
• Verify zero-energy states before work and maintain control of active isolations.
• Provide real-time updates to project stakeholders on isolation activities.
• Collaborate with construction, commissioning, and operations to minimize impacts on schedules.
• Participate in HRA planning and review project documents to identify energy sources.
