Job summary

Baltimore County's Office of Information Technology – Division of Electronic Services seeks a technician with expertise in auto/mobile electronics to install and maintain equipment in vehicles and facilities. The role involves working with radios, lighting, antennas, wiring, and related electronic systems on a regular schedule.

You will document work, follow safety protocols, and may lead other technicians.

Qualifications

At least one year's experience or specialized training in auto/mobile electronics installation.
Experience with mobile two-way radio or computer communications equipment.
Experience with emergency lights and sirens.
Experience with electronic accessories such as remote starters, security and audio systems.
Experience using hand and power tools to install electronic equipment.
Experience performing a variety of unskilled manual labor tasks.
Experience interpreting schematics, blueprints, and sketches for installation/maintenance of electronic equipment.
Experience leading or instructing others.

Responsibilities

Install mobile radio equipment, emergency lighting, and mobile computer equipment as directed.
Install two-way radios, antennas, transmission lines, wiring, and other electronic equipment in vehicles.
Set up interconnecting electrical systems, sirens, intercom and PA systems.
Perform testing, preventive maintenance, and inventory of electronic equipment.
Document work performed and may lead or instruct others.
