Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Test Technician to lead inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and startup of MV/LV electrical distribution equipment in field and shop settings.

You will work with protective relays, breakers, transformers, switchgear, and metering equipment, travel locally to national sites, and ensure adherence to safety standards. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of electrical experience and familiarity with NETA/IEEE standards; certification is preferred; strong

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of electrical experience with a high school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and manuals.
• Proficiency testing protective relays, circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead multiple projects onsite and in-house.
• Test low and medium voltage cables, transformers, switchgear, breakers and relays.
• Contain costs by eliminating wasteful practices and applying controls.
• Rotate emergency on-call duties and respond to customer emergencies.
• Promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Maintain detailed test reports and client documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients for commissioning.
• Provide mentorship to junior technicians.
