Job summary

W-Industries in Houston, TX is seeking a Testing Technician to perform hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning support for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in the field. You will work under Testing Engineers and Supervisors to execute test procedures and assist in handovers to clients.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED, 3–5 years in testing or commissioning in energy or industrial sectors, and can read schematics.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with electrical and instrumentation systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Proficiency in using test equipment such as multimeters, signal simulators, and loop calibrators.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow technical procedures with precision and attention to detail.
Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations for fieldwork.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and advanced testing of electrical and control systems, including loop checks, I/O verification, and functional tests.
Use testing equipment and diagnostic tools to validate system performance.
Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and documenting findings.
Follow established test plans and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Record testing results and provide detailed feedback to engineers and supervisors.
Assist in system start-up, commissioning, and handover activities.
Maintain testing tools and equipment in good condition.
Support adherence to safety procedures and company policies during testing activities.
Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
Participate in training and continuous learning to improve technical capabilities.
