Job summary

AMECO is a leading North American provider of construction site services and equipment, seeking a Field Electrical Technician to support our Engineered Solutions Division from Harrison, OH. The role installs, maintains, and repairs high- and low-voltage electrical systems in industrial settings.

You will travel about 40% for field service, use tools and manuals, comply with safety standards, and contribute to mission-critical projects across North America.

Qualifications

  • Six+ years combined education and related equipment troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Experience with a variety of tools including multimeters, pliers, wire strippers and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints.
  • Must have forklift operation capability and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and work flexible hours including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Install and commission electrical equipment and systems (PDP, junction boxes, lights, outlets, DIN rails, fuses).
  • Mount field devices, terminate cables to instrumentation, and marshal cabinets.
  • Run conduit and pull wires for high and low voltage installations.
  • Connect wiring from low-voltage DC to 480V, 3-phase systems; ensure safety and PPE compliance.
  • Complete paperwork, communicate with customers, and maintain an orderly work area.

AMECO, a North American leader in Construction Site Services, Product Distribution, and Equipment Rental is seeking an FieldElectrical Technician to regionally support our Engineered Solutions Division (ESD). The position is based out of our Harrison, OH facility.

Summary: As aFieldElectrical Technician you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical equipment, and components. The ideal candidate will have experience with both high 480V and low/control voltage, possessing strong technical skills in using manual and power tools to install various equipment as needed, and have a commitment to safety and quality both in the shop and while in the field on service calls. Overnight travel will be required approximately 40% of the time as workload dictates.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems that will include but not limited to, installation of PDP, Junction Boxes and Terminal Blocks, Lights, Outlets, DIN-Rail, DIN-Rail Terminal Blocks and Fuses.
  • Install & mount field devices, terminating cables to instrumentation, marshaling cabinets and junction boxes.
  • Have experience in running conduit and pulling wires for high and low voltage.
  • Connecting wiring and electrical circuits, ranging from low-voltage DC to 480V, 3-phase Heavy Motor, Actuator etc. ensuring compatibility of the components while adhering to safety practices and PPE requirements.
  • Completes necessary paperwork, including work orders, part orders, billing and/or warranty information, as applicable.
  • Frequent interaction/communication with customers concerning repairs and service needs.
  • Maintains an orderly work area and/or service truck.
  • Adheres to and supports AMECO’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Meets expectations on attendance and punctuality.
  • Plans, organizes, and carries out assignments as directed.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (oral and written), able to follow instructions and adhere to company policies & procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, Electrician, or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude.
  • Able to reference, understand and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints.
  • A combination of education and related equipment troubleshooting and repair experience equaling six (6) + years.
  • Experience work with a variety of tools including multimeters, manual tools (pliers, wire strippers, line pullers etc.) and Power Tools (Drilling, Impacts, Grinder, Saws, etc.) as necessary is a must.
  • Have basic knowledge of the difference between power and control wiring.
  • Understand cable sizing, using correct ferrule and crimp sizes.
  • Working with a Control Cabinet and Electrical Control Boxes would be a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals (diagrams , etc.) as provided.
  • Electrical schematics/drawing would be a plus but not necessary.
  • Ability to drive a forklift is a must.
  • As a non-CDL driver, this field position would require a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, along with the ability to pass associated driver requirements to include MVR, driver physical, road test.
  • Able to perform physical requirements of the job, including, but not limited to lifting, climbing, standing for extended periods of time, and working in inclement weather as workload/assignment dictate.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (to include working weekends) and travel to customer sites as needed.
  • The selected candidate must supply own basic tools, larger tools provided.
