MANTECH in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer to join our on-site team. You will contribute to propulsion and electrical systems integration for small craft, working with Navy-related projects and field installations.

This role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in propulsion, power distribution, and navigation electronics. Candidates must hold an active Secret clearance and be able to lift equipment and climb ladders as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of propulsion systems experience.
  • Experience with electrical power distribution, generators, and batteries.
  • Experience with electronics, navigation, comms, radar, and cyber.
  • Experience with auxiliary ship systems (piping, steering, HVAC, bilge).
  • Understanding of shipyard contract writing and design rationale documentation.
  • Hands-on experience in new-build small craft design and acquisition specification writing.

Responsibilities

  • Construct components, subunits, or simple models or adapt equipment; troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Follow layout and diagrams to build and package devices and subunits.
  • Conduct tests and experiments with minor modifications; record data.
  • Extract and compile engineering data from field notes, manuals, and lab reports.
  • Assist in design modification by compiling data on specifications and materials; identify gaps in data.
