Job summary

MEI Rigging & Crating in Abilene, TX is seeking a Site Safety Manager to lead EHS programs across multi-site operations. You will perform site inspections, ensure safety compliance, investigate incidents, and promote a culture of safety.

You will train personnel, manage SIPPS and permits, conduct audits, and coordinate with the Region EH&S Manager to implement loss-prevention initiatives and regulatory updates.

Qualifications

• Recognize safety hazards.
• Maintain current First Aid, CPR, AED certifications.
• Keep OSHA 30-hour Construction Card updated every two years.
• Have safety degree or 3+ years of construction safety management experience with at least one of ASP/CHST/CSP.
• 5+ years of EHS or safety experience in multi-site environment.
• 5+ years working with OSHA standards.
• 5+ years MS Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Support field operations through site inspection and safety compliance.
• Investigate incidents and promote incident-free field operation.
• Communicate MEI EHS policies and regulatory changes.
• Coordinate OSHA required training (Site Specific, Protocol, OSHA, Forklift).
• Provide administrative support for management systems and records.
• Lead investigations and root cause analysis for incidents.
• Manage SIPPS, hot work permits, confined space, HAZCOM, SDS, and related safety regs.
• Develop and deliver safe work instructions and JHAs as needed.
• Conduct daily pre-task plan audits and risk assessments.
• Perform routine site inspections to ensure regulatory and industry compliance.
• Maintain safety documentation and training records.
• Address safety violations promptly and document actions.
• Provide safety trainings for employees and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with Region EH&S to improve processes.
