Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an experienced EHS Manager for Data Center Construction and Operations to own environment, health, and safety across the full lifecycle of our data center sites. You will lead contractor safety programs, coordinate with multiple partners, and ensure safe practices from construction through live operations.

Responsibilities include prequalification, safety plan reviews, high-hazard permitting, incident investigations, and developing training materials.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of EHS experience with construction, data center, or heavy industrial projects.
• Hands-on expertise in contractor safety: prequalification, safety plan review, high-hazard permitting, and multi-employer oversight.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction (29 CFR 1926), general industry (29 CFR 1910), NFPA 70E, lockout/tag-out, and fall protection.
• Confident safety authority on active worksites, able to stop work when unsafe.
• Ability to build and run programs across multiple sites and manage external safety partners.

Responsibilities

• Own contractor safety programs across sites: prequalification, safety plan review, orientation, permitting, audits, and inspections.
• Set expectations and coordinate with general contractors and subcontractors; hold parties accountable for safe work.
• Oversee EHS across construction, commissioning, and operations phases, including electrical safety and NFPA 70E.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; drive root cause and implement corrective actions; maintain OSHA reporting.
• Drive a consistent safety culture across distributed sites and manage external safety partners; contribute to safety standards.
