Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Consultant to provide on-site safety leadership for construction, industrial, and technology projects across the United States. You will partner with project teams to promote a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance.

The role requires 5+ years of EHS experience, knowledge of OSHA regulations, and the ability to conduct field audits, investigations, and training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Environmental Health & Safety experience in construction or industrial settings.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance programs.
• Experience conducting field audits, inspections, safety observations, training, and corrective actions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, supervisors, craft personnel, subcontractors, and clients.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic safety reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily field safety observations, inspections, and audits.
• Identify hazards and collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and site safety requirements.
• Lead or participate in incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Prepare safety reports for clients and stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
• Review JHAs/AHAs, permits, and safe work plans.
• Support high-risk activities including fall protection, LOTO, confined space, crane operations, excavation, hot work, and electrical safety.
• Serve as liaison between workers, supervisors, subcontractors, and client representatives on EHS matters.
• Maintain an active field presence and promote safe practices through coaching.
• Assist clients with regulatory compliance audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
