Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Consultant to provide on-site safety leadership on construction, industrial, manufacturing, energy, and technology projects across the United States.

You will act as the boots-on-the-ground safety resource, conducting field observations, guiding risk controls, and coordinating with project teams to ensure OSHA compliance and a strong safety culture. This role offers wide-reaching impact with diverse environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience in field environments.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance programs.
• Experience conducting field audits, inspections, safety observations, training, and corrective action management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily field safety observations, inspections, and audits.
• Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements.
• Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports for clients and stakeholders.
• Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee training sessions.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), permits, and safe work plans.
• Support high-risk activities including: Fall protection, LOTO, confined space entry, crane and rigging operations, excavation and trenching, hot work, electrical safety.
