Job summary

Castelion is seeking an EHS Engineer to provide hands-on support at Project Ranger operations in New Mexico. You will engage across construction, manufacturing, and maintenance to identify hazards, implement controls, and uphold safety standards.

You will lead risk assessments, training, and incident investigations, ensuring EHS programs are practical, compliant, and field-ready. The role is highly field-oriented and requires close collaboration with operators and engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of EHS, safety engineering, or related experience in aerospace/defense or industrial environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and industrial EHS programs.
• Experience developing and implementing EHS programs, SOPs, and training.
• Experience with hazard assessments, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Experience supporting new equipment installations, facility modifications, or commissioning.
• Ability to read technical documentation and translate hazards into practical controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily, hands-on EHS support across construction, manufacturing, and site operations.
• Serve as onsite EHS resource for employees, contractors, and leadership; escalate significant risks.
• Partner with facilities, engineering, and contractors to identify and control EHS risks in construction and site development.
• Participate in design reviews to embed EHS into equipment procurement and modification.
• Develop and deliver EHS training; roll out programs with field coaching.
• Execute core EHS programs: LOTO, machine safety, PPE, respiratory protection, electrical safety, and more.
• Conduct field inspections and walkdowns; track findings and drive closure.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations; develop corrective actions and lessons learned.
• Support industrial hygiene activities and environmental compliance tasks.
• Collaborate with EHS personnel across locations to share procedures and lessons learned.
