Castelion seeks an EHS Engineer to provide hands-on support at Midland manufacturing and test operations, focusing on hazard assessment, risk controls, and OSHA/compliance requirements.

The role blends field work with technical discussions, partnering with manufacturing, test, engineering, and facilities teams to implement pragmatic controls, conduct inspections, and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years of EHS, safety engineering, or related experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, chemical processing, or other industrial environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and common industrial EHS programs.
• Experience conducting hazard assessments, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action management.
• Ability to translate hazards into practical controls with manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily, hands-on EHS support for manufacturing, test, maintenance, and facilities operations.
• Identify hazards and partner with engineering/operations to develop engineering, administrative, and procedural controls.
• Lead and support risk assessments including JHAs, PHAs, equipment reviews, and readiness assessments for new or modified operations.
• Support new equipment and process changes by evaluating EHS risks and establishing controls before work begins.
• Execute core EHS programs (LOTO, machine safety, PPE, respiratory protection, Hazard Communication, electrical safety, hot work, fall protection).
• Conduct routine field inspections and walkdowns to verify controls and drive corrective actions.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes, and verify corrective actions.
• Support industrial hygiene activities including exposure assessments and controls.
• Manage day-to-day environmental compliance activities (hazardous waste, chemical inventories, spill prevention, inspections, records).
• Coordinate with EHS leadership on ATF explosives requirements and inspections.
