Job summary

Newcomb and Company seeks a Commercial/Industrial Piping Project Manager / Field Construction Manager to lead HVAC and process piping installations in commercial projects. You will spend substantial time in the field directing piping crews, coordinating materials, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of HVAC hydronic piping and equipment installation.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules and field resources for multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with project executive and notify of issues and changes.
• Order and purchase piping materials to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Verify plans, submittals, shop drawings and installation instructions are followed.
• Prepare shop drawings and submittals not handled by the project executive.
• Attend job meetings and coordinate with supervision on status and changes.
• Schedule deliveries with superintendents, foremen, mechanics, suppliers and warehouse.
• Prepare correspondence with customers, vendors and engineers.
• Document delays, changes and cost variations with project manager and customers.
• Assist with progress billings and change orders as needed.
• Oversee field crews, ensure safety policies are followed and quality installations.
• Develop two-week look ahead schedules and monthly labor loading forecasts.
• Walk projects weekly to verify installation quality and compliance with plans.
