Job summary

Turner & Townsend seeks a Mechanical Project Manager – Data Center Construction with field experience to lead GC activities and report schedule status to the owner. The ideal candidate brings deep field expertise in large-scale data center projects, with leadership and a background in electrical contracting, MEP coordination, and cost control.

On-site presence is required; strong communication with clients, architects, and regional stakeholders is essential as projects progress and challenges

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of electrical project management experience, ideally in data center construction.
• Experience with substations and power distribution systems.
• Familiarity with MEP design.
• Proficiency in project management tools.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and construction methodologies.
• Proficiency in Data Center Commissioning Process (levels 1-5).
• Proficiency managing construction documents including BODs, specifications, contract drawings, C/D/E's, equipment submittals and RFIs.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, P6, CxAlloy, and other construction PM tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee GC construction activities and report to the project owner.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery to client.
• Track critical milestones and prevent schedule slips.
• Ensure governance, processes and systems are used across projects.
• Apply best practice on all projects and produce status reports.
• Monitor multiple projects to ensure design standards are applied.
• Manage interfaces between suppliers through trackers and reviews.
• Facilitate project information flow via meetings and written communications.
• Forecast and update key project milestones.
• Provide technical support to owners, architects, GCs and regional stakeholders.
• Respond rapidly to RFIs from the field.
• Support cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance.
• Review status reports, drawings, timelines and costs from teams.
• Help develop relationships with Clients to maximize opportunities.
• Advise on approaches to achieve client and business objectives.
• Capture lessons learned and improve internal processes.
